Silver City

Want a little weekend escape? Want to visit a cute town in New Mexico? Well...head on over to Silver City next month and check out the town's “Taste of Downtown” or the Gila River Festival. Click here for more information about Taste of Downtown.

I spent my 49th birthday in Silver City and had a great time. The town is little but packed with a lot of upcoming festivals. September looks like it is going to keep you busy. If festivals are not your thing, the town has plenty of galleries, antique shops, second-hand stores, and other little shops to check out.

If you have time, trek up to the Gila Mountains and enjoy the peaks and the cool breezes.

Silver City is about 2 hours from Las Cruces via I-10/180. Well, you are at it...stop in and have breakfast at the Sunrise Kitchen in Deming, New Mexico before traveling north to Silver City.

Click here to check out Silver City's event page.

Now...run along and get that small town on!!
